What’s the news ?

September 2009

Here we go again! The holidays are over and Babelia is about to start again for a fourth year.

Last year, the project “One month for one poster”, which had been launched for the Day of Sustainable Development of the Lycée A.de Tocqueville, received a European label. Fourteen different schools from seven European countries, from kindergarden to university, had taken part. The teacher who initiated the project was invited to attend the annual eTwinning convention in Prague, in the Czech Republic.

The project ” my year 2008” is under examination for a European label. The results will be published in the coming months. It was proposed in five languages and several countries made interesting contributions.

The project with Katedralskole, a high school in Aarhus, Denmark, ended with a two-day visit of the Danish students in Nice and Grasse where 11th and 12th graders from Tocqueville were their guides.

This year, there are two of us to begin the year: the Lycée de Tocqueville and Il Istituto d’ Istruzione Superiore Statale Carlo Amoretti, Imperia, Italy, who has been our partner since the start in 2006.

A project is about to be launched: the plan is to make a CD in Spanish and English… and maybe in Italian and French too, to present our respective regions. The Italian school will be the administrator of the project.

If you have an idea for a project, if you would like to contribute to the e-journal, ask a question or make a remark,  do not hesitate to write directly to babelia@laposte.net . Texts, sound tracks and short films can be published. A reminder: all work must be original. No ‘copy & paste’ in Babelia for copyrights reasons.

Hoping to hear from you in a near future, we wish you a successful school year .

The publishing team.
