Babelia

My name is Zai Roxana and I am from Satu Mare, Romania. I study at the Doamna Stanca National College. 2008 was a good year for me and I really hope that 2009 will be even better.

             One of the things that I really liked in 2008 was that I read the novel “The Devil Wears Prada”. This novel is written by Lauren Weisberger and is one of the best books I have ever read. The book is about a girl, whose name is Andrea Sachs and her boss is Miranda Priestly. The main theme of the book is the changes that took place in Andrea’s life. She starts working as the assistant of Miranda Priestly. Miranda is a very famous woman, who is the manager of a magazine called “Runway”.

              One of the best things about the book is the way the writer tries to write a comic, but also a realistic novel, and finally she succeeds. After the first few pages, you feel hopeless, because Miranda is so bad and she is a difficult person to deal with, and Andrea is so nice; and unfortunately, she has to put up with Miranda almost every day.

               There is also a movie is based on the book but some things are different. I have also seen the movie and the novel is better than the movie.

                After reading this novel, you will realize that all the things that are mentioned in the book happen in the real life and rich people usually think that if they have money they can do whatever they want.

                All in all, this book is very well written and it really succeeded in drawing my attention. I would recommend it to everybody to read it. JJ
